Cricket commentator and former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar today named his all-time India Test XI. Manjrekar revealed his ‘Dream team’ during the ongoing 1st test between India and New Zealand at the Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.

Manjrekar says that his team will comprise of players mainly post the 70s era. Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag will open the batting for his side. As far as the no.3 and no.4 positions were concerned, Manjrekar went for Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar saying that the dynamic duo was more than capable of fitting into the respective spots.

Gundappa Viswanath chipped over VVS Laxman at the no.5 spot while MS Dhoni is the captain and wicket-keeper of the side. Speaking about the bowling department, Kapil Dev along with with the left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan form the new ball pair.

Manjrekar believes in three-spinner strategy as he has gone with the spin trio of Bishan Singh Bedi, EAS Prasanna, and BS Chandrasekhar.

Manjrekar said that Chandrasekhar had a close fight with Anil Kumble as Chandrasekhar win it over the current Indian cricket coach. However, considering the line-up one might feel that there is a lack of a pace bowler but, however, this team would be good in the sub-conditions.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s All-Time India Test XI: Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Gundappa Viswanath, MS Dhoni (C & WK), Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, Bishan Singh Bedi, EAS Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar.
