The England wicketkeeper-batsman, Sarah Taylor was forced to take a break from cricket in May last year, as she was suffering from anxiety disorder.

Taylor, who will turn 28 next month, is recognized as one of the most talented women cricketers in the world, but the worst patch of her career was seen during the World T20 in India in March when she made managed only 49 runs at 9.80 in five matches.

Following this poor record, the 27-year-old took a break from cricket. But after 11 months, she is good to go once again, as she has joined the team for the training in the United Arab Emirates for the ICC Women’s World Cup in June.  Sarah was initially left out of the practice squad which was listed earlier in March because her availability was uncertain.

“Sarah Taylor is going really well at the moment and is back in training,” her coach Mark Robinson confirmed on Monday (April 10).

“Her return is a graduated one which is being regularly reviewed as she hopefully works herself back to full fitness. Her goal is still to give herself the best chance of being able to play in the World Cup.”

The training camp will be attended by 25 cricketers, in which two intra-squad matches will be played, followed by an ODI series against Ireland.

Sarah has always been very vocal about her disorder and speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, she once revealed she was under cognitive behavioral therapy and how the disorder resulted in panic attacks which would force her to leave the field in the middle of a game. “My health was my first priority”, she told espncricinfo.

She was suffering from the disorder since the past 4 years, but the treatment seems to have worked for Sarah, who will be donning the England’s jersey soon again in the UAE practice camp.
