The Pakistan cricket team, of late, has enjoyed immense success. And much of it can be owed to their wicketkeeper-captain Sarfraz Ahmed. The gloveman has done a brilliant job behind the stumps, which saw the Men in Green win the Champions Trophy earlier this year by defeating arch-rivals India in the finale.

The Pakistan team will now face Oceania opponents New Zealand in a limited-over affair. The team from the subcontinent will travel for 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is slated to be played between January 6 and 28. And in a bid to carry on their sublime form, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has said that he wants his batsmen, especially hard-hitting opener Fakhar Zaman, to attack the opposition in the upcoming tour.

Speaking to the media earlier today, Sarfaraz was quoted by Business Recorder saying, “Our batting target is to play positive cricket in such conditions if one doesn’t attack the opposition bowling line, it will get under pressure.”

He added, “The openers, including Fakhar, Azhar, and Imam, all are naturally aggressive, so I would like them to carry on with their natural game against New Zealand.”

Pakistan to miss the services of Junaid Khan and Imad Wasim

The 30-year-old skipper has dismissed any notion that implies Pakistan’s batting line is its weak link. The wicketkeeper-batsman stood by his players and applauded them for performing regularly for quite some time. Apart from opener Fakhar Zaman, all other players in the squad have played in New Zealand and hence will be able to adapt to the conditions there.

The batting lineup also has got a major depth after the arrival of Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf. Playing against the Kiwis in ‘tough conditions’ would be a challenge, but the team is all prepared for it. However, the loss of speedster Junaid Khan and spinner Imad Wasim will take a toll on Pakistan’s imperial bowling attack.
