Mike Hesson recently stepped down from the position of New Zealand’s national cricket coach. He appointed Brendon McCullum as the captain of the Kiwis over an experienced Ross Taylor and the decision attracted a lot of brickbats. However, the move turned out to be a masterstroke as Baz changed the face of the brand of their cricket. He also took them to the Final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Hesson’s resignation has left a massive void in the Black Caps’ camp and they are searching for the next person to take up the responsibility. Meanwhile, Grant Bradburn, the current coach of the Scotland Cricket team, has expressed his desire to be anointed as their head coach. Bradburn is himself a Kiwi and played 7 Tests and 11 ODIs for them.

“I’ve already thought about a strategy”- Bradburn

”I would absolutely love to apply for the Black Caps job. It has always been my dream to coach a full member nation, especially my home nation. As a family that has always been our intent to come home at some stage and this presents a double opportunity really for me to pursue what would be a dream job and for us as a family to head back home,” the 52-year was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz.

Bradburn has been with the Scotts since April 2014 and has done a reasonable job with them. He also coached them in the recently concluded ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, the former New Zealand-cricketer has charted out a suitable strategy in order for the Black Caps to perform well in the upcoming cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

“I’ve already thought about a strategy that I feel would be suited for the Black Caps role, but I think it would be important for me to just talk to NZ Cricket first and just get their feeling on what they believe they need particularly in the short term building towards the World Cup next year,” Bradburn added.
