Shahid Afridi denies coming out of ODI Retirement: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has rubbished all talks of him returning out of retirement and representing Pakistan again in One-Day Internationals. Afridi announced his retirement from ODIs at the end of the 2015 World Cup along with skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.

Afridi, who is a part of Pakistan’s T20 squad to face Bangladesh in an one-odd Twenty20 International left for Dhaka along with few other players including Ahmed Shehzad. While leaving, when the journalists asked him about it, he said that he has no intentions of going back on his decision to retire from the ODIs.

Before his departure, Afridi said My decision is final. We have to understand that the new players will take time to adjust and settle down and we have to give them proper time for this.

In the past Afridi returned out of retirement after announcing his retirement twice and that led to the speculation of Afridi doing it again. He announced his retirement only from ODIs and still continues to lead the country in T20s.

While speaking about the Pakistan T20 side, Afridi said that it has many exciting players in its and he would aim at building the team as a strong one. He said We have some exciting players in our T20 squad and my aim as captain now is to build up a strong outfit.

Afridi was very disappointed over the team’s performancein the ongoing ODI series. Afridi also expressed confidence over winning the one-off T20 match. That we lost the one-day series to Bangladesh will not make a difference to us and we want to win this lone T20 game, he said.
