Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has taken to humanitarian duties ever since he has been out of favour from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as far as the selection in the team is concerned. He recently paid a huge sum to ensure Pakistani nationals stuck in Dubai jail were released and today (February 5) Afridi tweeted about the very sensitive Kashmir issue that more or less affects both India and Pakistan.

Kashmir has been the prime reason for dispute between India and Pakistan while it is an integral part of India and the Indian governments since independence have clearly maintained the same stand Pakistan has continued its undue demand of gaining control over the valley. Afridi’s tweet was pointing at the violence that has persisted in Kashmir for decades and the lives that have been lost because of that.

In the first of his two-part tweet, Afridi wrote: “Kashmir has been suffering from brutality since past many decades.its high timethis [time this] issue shd [should] be resolved which has taken infinite lives.

Like it is popularly known the Pakistani cricketer termed Kashmir as the heaven on earth for its natural beauty. He also expressed that the pleas of the people should be taken into consideration.

The hashtags he used are interesting as well since he opted for tagging his tweet with- I Stand With Kashmir and Kashmir Solidarity Day. “Kashmir is heaven on earth & we can’t be oblivious to the pleas of the innocent. #iStandWithKashmir #KasmirSolidarityDay”,” Afridi’s second tweet read.

While India has won all the wars they have certainly not been able to control the infiltration and terrorists who have been sneaking through from the other side of the border which has constantly been the reason for unrest in the region.

This wasn’t quite well received and a lot of people on Twitter asked him to look into his own country than at issues in India. Here are some of the replies:
