Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has come out and said that there is cold and hard evidence against Sharjeel Khan who has been embroiled in the ongoing spot-fixing scandal that is clouding the Pakistan Super League at the moment. While this is certainly something de-meaning as far as Sharjeel goes, but now with evidence as well, things look very gloomy as far as Sharjeel and his international career is concerned.

Sharjeel Khan currently plays for the defending champions of the Pakistan Super League Islamabad United and is also one of the few internationals named in this scandal. Khalid Latif, the makeshift opener for Pakistan in ODIs while Mohammad Irfan is also someone who has been named in the allegations of spot-fixing as well. Shahryar Khan went ahead and stated that these actions could not be condoned given the amount of work being done for Pakistan players as well.

“We have evidence against the players and we are into further investigation. Sharjeel was on my flight back from Dubai, but we did not meet. I am disappointed and angry that after doing so much for these cricketers, they still did something so disgraceful. Under no circumstances will the PCB condone actions of a few individuals to bring disrepute to the game of cricket or taint the image of Pakistan,” Shahryar told reporters at Karachi airport.

In recent times, the bulk of the spot-fixing has indeed come from Pakistan. One can also not forget the events of 2010 wherein there was even a video involving three superior members of the Pakistan Cricket team in Lords. Only Mohammad Amir has been the one to make a comback from that episode.
