Former Australian cricketer and legendary leg-spinner, Shane Warne has backed the Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir to have a good series against England on their home turf.

When asked whether the English crowd will give Amir a hard time, Warne disproved the possibility and said, “I am sure he will get a good one. I feel for him. He’ll be fine. He is an excellent bowler. Hopefully, he will be at his best for the series.“

Amir is coming to England on the back of a 5-year ban after he, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were found guilty of spot-fixing during the 2010 Lord’s Test against England. Amir is the only one out of the three to make a comeback into the national side, which he did earlier this year in Pakistan’s limited-overs series in New Zealand.

The whole cricketing world has an eye on Amir as there are a lot of expectations from the left-arm pacer. Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also claimed that he could become the best bowler in the world.

According to Warne, the series could be decided on which team’s batting lineup is more technically adept to the conditions. “I think both the bowling sides will be good. I think the top order will be tested of both Pakistan and England.”

“The weather has been horrific, pitches are going to nip around and seam. So, it is going to be tough for those top-order batters. I think it is going to be a good series,” he concluded.
