On Day 1 in a highly competitive India vs Australia Test match, the first session was taken away by the Aussies. The second session and the day belonged to India and the young Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav. He ran havoc through the Australian middle order as they were unable to pick this young man with all his variations.

Rahane, the stand-in captain did not use Kuldeep at all in the first session but as soon as he brought him on, the chinaman was right on the necks of the Australians. First picking up David Warner with a flipper which he learned from the Australian legend Shane Warne. Then he took out Peter Handscomb with a peach of a delivery that literally flattened his wickets.

Glenn Maxwell was nothing special as he was fooled and squared up as the ball kissed the bails on the way. Yadav was ecstatic as he picked four wickets on his debut. Later on in the day he was interviewed by the host broadcaster and revealed that he learned the flipper from Warne.

He said that it a nice feeling to get one his teammates out with the skill he taught him. “Did you see the first wicket (David Warner)? That was not a Chinaman. It was a flipper which I learned from Shane Warne. So learning from Warne and then getting out his countryman is a nice feeling,” said Kuldeep.

He also said that Warne is his idol and it was a surreal experience to meet him in person. The Kanpur-lad said that he did exactly what Shane Warne told him and the Australian legend has promised to have another session with him.

“My idol is Shane Warne and I have followed him since my childhood. I only watch his videos and it was a dream come true when I met him. I could not believe I was speaking to my idol and sharing my thoughts on bowling and what all I should be doing. I did exactly what he (Warne) told me to do. He has promised that he will have another session with me in future,” said the young Chinaman from Kanpur.

Shane Warne too was impressed with the youngster as he took it to Twitter to praise the bowler. Warne said that he is always willing to help any wrist spinner from any country. The tweet read, “Always happy to help out any young spinner from any country. Long live the wrist spinners, Kuldeep was very impressive.”
