Reports suggest that Shane Warne has indeed been lured into the I’m A Celeb Jungle this Sunday. However, 3AW Breakfast showbiz reporter Peter Ford has suggested that there could be an ulterior motive to the spin king’s involvement in the star-studded show. The payoff for Shane Warne is reportedly $2 million.

Shane Warne, who had a rather magical career announced his retirement in 2005 following the Ashes series in England. From then on, Warne has been in the public eye for the most part with his commentary, punditry and showbiz.

“It is happening” were the words that came out of the mouth of Peter Ford when the subject of Warne’s participation was brought up. Ford’s official statement however, read, “He’s been playing word games and choosing his words very carefully by saying he ‘hadn’t signed’ anything. There is an agreement in place. He is going to do it. I’ve heard this from three sources, I find it hard to believe, but the amount is $2 million.”

It has also been reported that some of the stars who featured the in the previous season of the show were lured in with massive payouts rumored to be $60,000. Warne however, has seemingly set a new standard for the same.

The terms and conditions of Warne’s contract however have been altered a bit. Having previously confessed that he is an arachnophobe, Warne will be exempted from eating spiders of any form during any of the challenges of the show.

Although Warnie may be a man for all seasons when it comes to cricket, his appearance in I’m a celeb jungle will certainly be a first.
