Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has been in excellent form off-late. It started from the Big Bash League where he plays for Sydney Thunder and continued in the Pakistan Super League where he plays for Quetta Gladiators.

In the eight matches he has played so far, his performance with the bat has been impressive. In his last encounter against Karachi Kings on March 8, he scored an unbeaten 90. Currently, his team stands at No. 2 in the points table with 8 points, just one below table toppers Multan Sultans.

Since the qualifiers and final will take place in Pakistan with cricket returning to Lahore in for the final match of PSL, several overseas will have to take a call on whether they will be traveling to the country like several other players did last year. If Quetta Gladiators qualify, Watson will have to take a call too.

Qualification for Elimination matches priority for Watson

Even though PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had assured that there will be back-ups available if players back out, Gladiators would want Watson to accompany them considering the rich form he is in. However, on being asked about his plans to travel to Pakistan, said that he is not certain.

“At this point in time, the most important objective is for all of us to help Quetta Gladiators qualify for the eliminators and then on to the final of the tournament. We still have a few more games to go so there is some more cricket to be played before we get to Pakistan,” he said, as reported by PakPassion.

“I am still undecided. Obviously, the decision point will come in a couple of weeks and that decision isn’t so much my own as it is my family’s who are the most important part of my life. So, we will see how it goes but the most important thing here is for us to make sure that Quetta gets to the final in Karachi.”
