There is something about the Chennai Super Kings that makes them successful. The franchise has a large fan base and does not disappoint them whenever they take the field. What is the reason behind players performing whenever they come to the Chennai Super Kings? Many teams look to retain only the core group of players but the Super Kings retain the same management group throughout as well.

International cricket had already bid farewell to Shane Watson who was one of the finest allrounders for Australia. Many thought that Watson’s glory days are over and he will not contribute much even in the shorter format. Watson did not have a good IPL last year but after being picked by the Yellow army, he seems to have returned to his best.

With the Australian cricket team going through a crisis after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa involving Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft report emerged that Watson may make a comeback to the national team. But the veteran squashed all claims and has not made any plans to come out of retirement.

A lot to offer

“It’s time for the next generation to take over. I’m just happy to be playing in the Leagues and now T10 and play a mentor’s role. By mentoring, I mean away from being on tours. I love being with my family when I’m not playing and I cherish that. Now I get more time and also ten overs suits my body,” Watson said after he was unveiled as The Karachians’ iconic player for the T10 Cricket League. Watson has represented Australia in 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 T20 Internationals. He has been one of the legendary cricketers for the Aussies but feels that his time is over and the youngsters must take over.

The all-rounder has been hitting the ball pretty well in the last few months. He has been able to hold his body together and be available for all the crucial games. Watson’s 117 against SRH in the IPL final showed that the veteran still has a lot of offer to cricket. Watson also added the Justin Langer, the new head coach for Australia is the right man to put the Aussies on the right track.
