The 1st of April every year is celebrated as fool’s day where people deceive or hoodwink someone to have fun at others expense. Popular sports celebrities as well are no stranger to pulling the wool over others.

One of the most sought after football website too trolled their readers after publishing a burlesque article which stated that Wayne Rooney was willing to terminate his contract with the EPL giant to pursue a career in WWE. Additionally, they went on to state that Rooney would make a special appearance at the famous Pay-per-view event Wrestlemania today.

Retired Kiwi batsman and wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum also declared that this season of the Indian Premier League would be the last one for the cricketer. He further added that he would want to retire from the game to chase his dream of being a jockey starting with an apprenticeship at Vermair Racing.

“I decided the time’s right. At different times of your life you’ve got to seize different opportunities and obviously, with my links to Vermair Racing and my cricket career phasing out I felt it was the right time to take up an apprenticeship”, Brendon said.

Australian Tennis too played its part by publicising their move to install new seats in the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, where the fans could enjoy the action right beside the chair empire.

Our very own renowned prankster from the Indian Team, Yuvraj Singh, also played a hilarious gag on his fellow teammate from Hyderabad Shikhar Dhawan. He also uploaded the moment for his fans following him on various social media accounts with the caption “What’s 1st April without a prank … this was fun … Wishing everyone a fun filled #AprilFoolsDay @SDhawan25 (sic)”

When Dhawan was having a tranquil moment in the swimming pool, Yuvraj Singh tried to create panic by telling the opener that his wife Ayesha Mukherjee asked to call her as it was a matter of emergency. While tossing in between drying himself and fumbling with the phone, Dhawan realised that it was all a prank and looked sheepishly. Check the video out below.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are all set to defend their crown this season. All eyes would be on the duo as they look to play the lung opener against the Royal Challengers of Bangalore in their own backyard.
