Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has shown his concern about Taskin Ahmed after the Bangladesh fast bowler was banned from bowling in International cricket by International Cricket Council last Saturday.

Akhtar tweeted, “Really feel for Taskin I hope he gets the clearance from icc soon .. Bcoz he’s an asset for world cricket …”

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has lodged an appeal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the suspension of Tasking Ahmed.

Taskin was reported for having a suspect bowling action along with left arm spinner Arafat Sunny after Bangladesh’s game against Netherlands in the group stage of the ongoing ICC World Twenty20.

After having undergone an independent assessment of their bowling actions, both Sunny and Ahmed were suspended from bowling with immediate effect. ICC had stated in their media release that “not all of Taskin’s deliveries were legal”.

Bangladesh is more discontent over Taskin Ahmed ‘s suspension. The young fast bowler has emerged as one of their leading bowlers in the past year.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza also expressed his unhappiness in an emotional manner just ahead of their game against Australia.

“There is a process and we will follow that. Whatever we want to say, we will say it to the BCB. The board will decide what to do, and talk to the ICC or whoever (else),” Mashrafe said on Sunday.

“But we still believe that Taskin – at least – is all right, and that Taskin can bowl. Now we will go through the processes and the systems that we have.”

“I don’t think about my career. But what kind of captain would I be if I can’t stand beside the boy who will serve my country for the next 10-15 years. I can’t accept this injustice,” Mashrafe said.
