Shoaib Malik picks his favorite bowler from the Indian team

Veteran Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik was recently asked to pick the best bowler in the Indian team. The star batsman took very little time to pick his choice and came up with an answer with which most people would agree with. The Indian team boasts of some of the most exciting young bowling talent in the world of modern day cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best death bowler among the new entrants on the blocks. His heroics in the IPL were there to be seen for all. Mohammad Shami has been a perennial performer for the Indian team ever since he has entered international cricket. Umesh Yadav, in the recent times, has bowled with fire and aggression.

His efforts were lauded by many after a very successful home Test season for him. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a renowned swing bowling prospect of the Indian team. Apart from the pacer, the team boasts of two quality frontline spinners as well. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are the top two bowlers in the longest format of the game.

Malik’s take

Certainly, when Shoaib Malik was asked to pick one among these, he had a tough choice to make. But the Pakistani batsman had his answer fixed. He quoted Mohammad Shami to be the best bowler in the Indian team. He reasoned out that his choice is not on the grounds of religion but because of the sharp precision with which Shami bowls.

“The best bowler in the Indian team is Mohammad Shami. Not because he is a Muslim guy but because I have seen him bowling. I have also played against him. So I think, for me, I find him tough and that’s why (Shami is the best bowler in Indian team),” said Shoaib Malik.
