England pacer David Willey will be left out of the squad that will travel to the West Indies in the upcoming weeks after failing a fitness test that saw him fall out with a terrible strain to his shoulder. This strain could very well see him undergo a surgery to the shoulder that has taken a hit, something that will put him out of the sport for at least a couple of months.

Steven Finn will take Willey’s place in the side for the tour in a 14-man squad that will leave England and play in the West Indies on the 25th of February, but the fact is that Willey has been one of the most impressive players in recent times. This injury came while Willey bowled in the third ODI against India, a match that the Brits would win by an incredibly slender margin.

Cricket Board (ECB) statement issued Tuesday saying: “The Yorkshire all-rounder had surgery on his left shoulder on Friday to further assess the injury he sustained whilst bowling in the third ODI against India last month. He has suffered a partial tear of a tendon and will be out of action until April.”

The England and Wales Cricket Board has been buzzing quite a bit in recent times given the fact that there has been a change of guard in the Test scene in recent times.
