Pakistan cricketers have been at the boot camp conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) fitness trainer Grant Luden. Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is not attending the boot camp as he is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee problem at the national academy in Lahore.
Hafeez has been a consistent player over the years for Pakistan. He has played in different positions for his team but has been mostly regarded as an opening batsman. His off-spinners are more than useful with over 200 wickets in international cricket.
In a recent interview, PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan pointed that only Misbah-ul-Haq is a proper graduate in the side and the poor education among the players is the key reason for all the problems. “There is no graduate player in the team right now except for Misbah and the absence of educated players in the team is a primary reason for its recent downfall.”

Hafeez during a question and answer session on Twitter with the fans said that education is an important part of life but “Having degrees r not enough. I m proud to b a TEST cricketer#my DEGREE”.
He further wrote, “Cricket is a complete education of a human being I believe.”
The board perceived Hafeez’s comments as an opposition to the PCB chairman and thus asked for an explanation from him. Hafeez stated that he was just answering the fan’s question on social media and he was unaware of the whole scenario.
