Almost everyone in India wished Virat Kohli on Tuesday (November 5) as the cricket captain celebrated his 31st birthday. In this cricket-obsessed nation, Kohli is arguably the most popular sportsperson now. The poster boy of Indian cricket has kept the Indian flag flying high despite a number of stalwarts retiring from the game in the last few years.

Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in the world right now and is definitely the most consistent across formats. No cricket comes even close to Kohli when his performance across all the three formats is considered. He is the only cricketer in the world at the moment with an average of over 50 in Tests, ODIs as well as T20Is.

Unsurprisingly, Kohli was flooded with messages on his birthday. But among the millions of messages, Bollywood singer Harshdeep Kaur’s message caught everyone’s attention. Kaur took Kohli back in time to his wedding day with her message. Wishing the India star a happy birthday, the singer shared an unseen video of a song she sang on Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding in 2017.

“Happy Birthday @imVkohli. Pride of India. Remembering #PeerViTu today that I sang for #Virushka @AnushkaSharma #HappyBirthdayViratKohli,” wrote Kaur.

The song Peer Vi Tu was specially created for the star couple’s wedding in 2017. Kohli and Anushka had tied the knot in a lavish affair in Italy a couple of years ago. On their first wedding anniversary last year, Kohli and Anushka took to social media to share a video from their wedding in which the song Peer Vi Tu plays in the background.

Kohli celebrated the birthday in Bhutan

Making the most of his break, Virat Kohli traveled to Bhutan along with his wife to spend some quality time in the lap of nature. Kohli has been rested for the ongoing India-Bangladesh T20I series and will return to action for the upcoming Test series against the same opposition. He took to Instagram to thanks his fans and well-wishers.

“What a blessing to be able to visit such divine places with my soulmate. Also thank you everyone for your kind wishes from the bottom of my heart (sic),” Kohli wrote while also posting some pictures from his Bhutan trip.
