SkyExch.net named title sponsors of Emirates D20 2022

After the success of its first edition, the 2022 edition of the Emirates D20 commenced on the 13th of June. The competition sees six teams clashing against each other to lift the illustrious trophy after 33 exciting matches across the 16-day-long tournament. SkyExch.net is the title sponsor of this year’s Emirates D20 2022 competition. One of the fastest-growing sports platforms, SkyExch.net is also the presenting sponsor of the third edition of the Lanka Premier League starting from 31st July.

Meanwhile, Emirates D20 2022 will follow the double round-robin format, one of the most adopted formats across popular league competitions in the world. The six participating teams, namely Emirates Blue, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman, and Abu Dhabi, will play each other twice, and the top four teams, after the round-robin stage, will progress through to the semi-finals to be played on the 27th of June. All matches of Emirates D20 will take place at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, including the final, which will be played on the 28th of June.

The first edition of the Emirates D20 saw Sharjah lift the trophy in a nail-biting finale against Fujairah in 2020. Fujairah were the heavy favourites to win the tournament’s inaugural edition as they went into the knockouts undefeated in the league stages with ten wins in as many games. But a spirited performance by the Sharjah side, who were placed third in the points table before heading into the knockout stage, defeated Fujairah by two wickets to clinch the title.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the popular sports platform has been associated with the shortest format of cricket.
