Smriti Mandhana is a rich find for the India Women’s cricket. At 21, she has shown one and all how valuable she can be with the bat, especially atop the order. Her explosive batting, although not really risk-free has proved to one and proved to all that she is somewhat bullet proof when it comes to wielding the bat. She almost seems like former Aussie wicketkeeping batsman Adam Gilchrist with her strokeplay.

Recently, Mandhana was playing her first ever game for the Western Storm aka the Stormtroopers, so to speak, in the Kia Super League in Australia. Batting atop the order, Mandhana began batting the only was she knew how – by somply putting bat to ball and smashing the ball to all parts.

Mandhana has increasingly become the epitome of international cricketing batsmanship for women. In fact, the ability with which she is able to bat the way she does is certainly something very impressive. She along with the likes of Mithali Raj and Jemaimah Rodrigues have been quite impressive with the bat atop the order for the Indian eves.

Manchana was simply fantastic as she began cutting and pulling the ball to different parts of the groud. She was also a prominent part of the first ever Indian Premier League game played shortly before the final of the men’s tournament. Mandhana’s T20 exploits at the time ensured that she was named captainof the trailblazers as well. Needless to say, the Indians will be hoping for much more from her as things move forward.

Smriti Mandhana scored 20-ball 48 on her Kia Super League debut. The record for the fastest fifty in KSL was in 22 balls.
