In a high intensity game between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the Super four stages, Rashid Khan and Danushka Gunathilaka were spotted in a verbal spat and Bhanuka Rajapaksha came to the rescue by pushing both the players back to their positions. The incident happened in the 17th over, when Sri Lanka had the upper hand in the game, and it needed a match turning over from Rashid to get his team back in the game.
However, instead Gunathilaka played an extraordinary reverse sweep above the short third man fielder and it raised away to the boundary. Rashid was furious and he immediately went to the batter to get on his face and exchanged a few words to spice up the situation. It worked out well for the leggie as he cleaned up Gunathilaka in the same over, however, it was too little too late to bag a wicket.
Surpisingly, Rashid conceded 39 in his four overs and picked up just the one wicket in his spell which is quite ordinary when it comes to his standards. The youngster was taken for 17 runs in his first over and clearly, the Sri Lankan batters did not want the Afghanistan spinners to settle down. Mujeeb Ur Rahman went for 2 for 30 in his spell and it wasn’t the best day for the world class spin bowling attack.

Meanwhile, Sri lanka pulled off a stunning victory against the Afghanistan side and chased down the target of 176. This is the second time in a row that the Island nation have come up with inspiring performance as they beat Bangladesh to reach the Super Four stages in a thriller.
The Dasun Shanaka led side’s victory has opened up the tournament wide and the other three teams will have to ensure they bring their A game into play against Sri Lanka.
