Cricket Buzz: Social media trends on May 22

It was a day of centuries in the ongoing 16th edition of the tournament as the final two league fixtures of the tournament witnessed three glittering centuries. The first of the lot came from the bat of Cameron Green, who registered his maiden IPL century in a swashbuckling victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

But it was the final league fixture of the season between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore, which sent social media into a meltdown. While Virat Kohli's seventh IPL century resurrected RCB's qualification hopes, Shubman Gill matched the batting maestro in the second innings, compiling his second consecutive ton in the tournament to land the knockout blow.

While the four qualified teams are gearing up for the knockout stages, the remaining team looked back at their journey in the tournament, thanking their fans for their unwavering support. Meanwhile, former Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed received birthday wishes from his former teammates. Furthermore, former England skipper Kevin Pietersen suggested Kohli make the switch to Delhi Capitals, returning to his roots.
