The cricket fraternity congratulated legendary Australia captain Meg Lanning after she announced her retirement from international cricket, which spanned over 13 years. Having led Australia to four T20I World Cup titles, one ODI World Cup title, and the Commonwealth Gold in 2022, Lanning is arguably one of the most successful captains in history.

Former India batter Robin Uthappa slammed the Sri Lankan batters following their dismal performance in the match against New Zealand in Bengaluru as they were restricted to 171 in 46.4 overs. Former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg lavished praise on Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell's innings against Afghanistan at Wankhede, terming it as 'unbelievable.' Vernon Philander, a former South African cricketer, showered praise on the Indian seamers for their approach with the new ball during the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.
