The much-awaited ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to get underway on October 05 in India as ten teams will be seen taking on each other to have their hands on the coveted trophy. Ahead of the tournament, the preparations are on all over India as stadiums are in the final stages of construction. An image of groundsmen preparing the stadium for the mega event has been going viral all over social media.

In the viral image, two groundsmen are seen exhibiting teamwork as one of them is seen standing on the shoulders of the other to get the work done. 

Meanwhile, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will get underway with a game between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the league stage, the teams will lock horns in warm-up fixtures to prepare themselves for the mega event from September 29.

India will start their World Cup campaign with a warm-up fixture against England on September 30, 2023 in Guwahati followed by another warm-up game against Netherlands on October 03 in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will finally kick off their campaign with a game against Australia in Chennai on October 08. However, the fans are eagerly waiting for the Men-in-Blue to clash against Pakistan in the highly anticipated encounter in Ahmedabad on October 14.

Pakistan to play New Zealand and Australia in warm-up fixtures

Pakistan arrived in India on October 27 and will begin their preparations for the cricketing extravaganza with a warm-up fixture against New Zealand on September 29 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The Babar Azam-led side will next face off against Australia on October 03 at the same venue. Hyderabad will also host Pakistan’s first league fixture against the Netherlands on October 06.

All the ten participating teams will be competing in a round-robin format with the top four teams qualifying for the semi-finals to be played on November 15 and 16 respectively while the final will be played on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
