Thereafter, it was during the ninth over of the match, that pacer Tim Southee bowled a slower delivery that caught Rohit off guard. He mistimed his shot, and the ball soared high in the air. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson took a brilliant catch at mid-off, ending Rohit's explosive (47 off 29) knock. At the time of writing, India had scored 178 runs for the loss of one wicket in 25 overs. Shubman Gill had retired hurt after scoring 79 runs off 65 balls, while Virat Kohli was at the crease with 45 not out alongside Shreyas Iyer.
Going ahead in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final match, the Indian team will be looking to score in access of 350 on the Wankhede’s surface where batting is going to be challenging for the opposition in the second inning. Virat would be eying to break Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries record while Iyer would be eager to continue his brilliant form as none of the Kiwi bowlers have looked effective against them till now.
