Spirit of Cricket has been in the discussion ever since Deepti Sharma ran out Charlotte Dean for backing up too far at the non-striker's end. The fraternity has been divided on the dismissal since despite the fact that MCC has made it clear that the dismissal is well within the laws of the game. Something similar happened in the third T20I between India and South Africa but the bowler Deepak Chahar just warned the batter.
The incident happened in the 16th over of South Africa's innings when Rilee Rossouw was on strike. Chahar ran in to bowl and when he was in his delivery stride, the non-striker Tristan Stubbs left the crease too early. Looking at the same, the bowler stopped in his run-up leaving the batter surprised.
Stubbs was well ahead in his crease and looking at the bowler, he had to rush back to his crease. There were all smiles in the middle with Rohit Sharma also coming up with a reaction while Stubbs also realised he was stealing space in the middle with tongue in cheek reaction.
Rilee Rossouw shines with the bat
Meanwhile, Rilee Rossouw shined with the bat for South Africa with his sensational batting. He couldn't score a run in the first two T20Is but the left-hander took toll of the Indian bowlers after Rohit Sharma put South Africa in to bat first. Quinton de Kock was the another batter who scored his second consecutive half-century of the series. The duo added 90 runs for the second wicket to set a perfect platform for the visitors to post a mammoth total on the board.
