Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh following a shoulder injury. The cricketer currently is under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team at the NCA and his chances of featuring in the two-match Test series against the Bangla Tigers are currently under threat.

In the meantime, the 32-year-old shared an update on his social media platform stating the impact of all the injuries he has suffered in his career so far. He said to have learned from all of them as they always give him a new perspective.

“Injury, in general, teaches you to appreciate every moment. I’ve had my share of injuries throughout my career. It’s humbling. It gives you perspective. No matter how many times I’ve been hurt, I’ve learned from that injury and come back even more stronger,” the cricketer Tweeted on Saturday, November 3.

Umran Malik will replace Shami in the ODI squad for Bangladesh series

The All India Senior Selection Committee has announced Umran Malik as the replacement of Mohammed Shami for the ODI series against Bangladesh. The young pacer made his ODI debut against the Kiwis last month, where picked up three wickets in the series.

Umran’s exclusion from the T20 World Cup was heavily criticised by former cricketers like Brett Lee, and Bharat Arun among many others. The Men in Blue certainly missed him in Australia where tearaway quick bowlers created a massive impact in the tournament. Players like Mark Wood (9 wickets in four matches), Anrich Nortje (11 wickets in five matches) wreaked havoc in the pace-friendly tracks of Australia, where India's pace bowling line up looked very pale.

India’s ODI squad against Bangladesh - Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tripathi, Shahbaz Ahmed, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Umran Malik, Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Sen
