North Sydney Oval is poised to unveil a revolutionary enhancement in the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League 2023. The innovation, brought to reality by Fox Electic Stumps, aims to transform the cricketing experience by integrating dynamic visual cues directly into the game.

The focal point of the advancement lies in the stumps itself Traditionally serving as mere markers, these stumps are primed to take an entirely new role. Upon the impact of a boundary, the stumps will instantly light up, elevating the thrill of every four and six scored.

However, the innovation does not stop there. A critical aspect of the game, the contentious moments of no balls and wides, will also be indicated by a striking red illumination emanating from the stumps. This real-time signaling promises to enhance the game’s accuracy and engage spectators in a more immersive manner.

The move is expected to redefine the spectator experience, offering an unprecedented visual spectacle while maintaining the integrity and essence of the sport. The anticipation is palpable as cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the debut of these technologically advanced stumps at North Sydney Oval.

Hers's a glimpse of new advancement:

No Third Umpire technology available for WBBL

Meanwhile, after the WBBL faced backlash for not employing third-umpire tech, Cricket Australia pledged to bring it to all WBBL games next season, aiming for consistency between televised and streamed matches. Dubious umpiring decisions this season raised concerns among players, emphasizing the need for improvements in the decision-making standards.

CA is actively addressing this concern, initiating talks for improvements next year. They plan to extend the decision review system to 10 more matches next season after its success in 24 free-to-air games. Discussions are also underway to set up dedicated run-out cameras for all other games, ensuring a consistent third-umpire presence in every WBBL match.
