IPL 2023: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina share heartfelt moment after CSK’s victory over LSG

The sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw four-time champions Chennai Super Kings take on the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants. After losing the season opener to Gujarat Titans, Chennai registered their first win of the season in a high-scoring thriller against Lucknow.

After Chennai’s first win of the season, MS Dhoni once again caught every headline as CSK posted a heartwarming picture of Dhoni’s reunion with former CSK star Suresh Raina. Fans went berserk seeing the two legends of the franchise together once again. Apart from Raina, Dhoni also met Robin Uthappa. Both Raina and Uthappa were captured by Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ambati Rayudu.

CSK defeat LSG in first win of season

After losing the season opener to Gujarat Titans, CSK returned to the MA Chidambaram Stadium as they made their return in front of the Chennai crowd after four years.

Taking on Lucknow at Chepauk, the hosts put in an exceptional performance as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway provided their side with a perfect batting first. Gaikwad scored 57 whereas Conway came through amassed 47.Chennai managed to put up scored 217 runs in 20 overs.

Coming in to bat, Lucknow had pressure mounted on them early on as skipper KL Rahul once again failed to perform. Kyle Mayers did score 53 runs to give the side some hope, but Moeen Ali’s exceptional spell dismantled Lucknow’s lineup as Chennai won the game by 12 runs. Moeen was awarded the Player of the Match for picking four wickets and scoring 19 runs with the bat.
