After the match, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was seen taking pictures with the ground staff of Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which immediately caught the fans' attention as the picture went viral on the internet. One of the users posted the picture on social media with the caption, "What a great gesture, King...!!!"

Coming to the match, Kolkata Knight Riders emerged victorious in a nail-biting encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Earlier, Andre Russell's explosive knock, scoring a blazing 64 runs off just 25 deliveries, set the tone for KKR's innings. His onslaught in the death overs propelled KKR to a formidable total of 208/7, marking the first 200-plus score of IPL 2024. Russell's fireworks were complemented by Phil Salt's gritty half-century, adding significant runs to the scoreboard.

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad didn't back down from the challenge. Heinrich Klassen showcased his batting prowess with a brilliant 63 off 29 balls, keeping SRH in contention throughout the chase. With the equation narrowing down to 13 runs needed off the final over, the match hung in the balance.

It was Harshit Rana who emerged as the hero for KKR in the thrilling final over. Defending seven runs off the last five balls, Rana showcased nerves of steel, taking crucial wickets to secure a crucial victory for his team. His exceptional bowling performance under pressure turned the tide in KKR's favor, clinching the match by a narrow margin of four runs.

I have tried to react with whatever comes my way: Andre Russell

Andre Russell, named the Man of the Match, credited his instinctive approach for his stellar performance. He acknowledged the challenges posed by bowlers but expressed his determination to contribute to Kolkata Knight Riders' success.

"Not really, sometimes stuff pop on my Insta and I realise how well I am striking the ball. Shows that you are doing well. I have tried to react with whatever comes my way. Over the last 2 years, bowlers have their plans against me. I have been digging out the runs, and I know everyone has a plan for me. (On his journey with KKR) I was on the bench early on, and just tried to make myself useful. This franchise means a lot to me, what I did tonight was just a way to prove what this jersey means to me. Hopefully, I can keep performing this way. (On Harshit Rana) Shows a lot about his character. He told me he wanted the last over, he claimed it and he came back strong after the first ball went for six," Russel said.
