IPL 2025: Best Catch of the Match – GT vs CSK, Match 67
Rutherford was dismissed for a four-ball duck.
Ayush Mhatre held onto a smart catch to get rid of Sherfane Rutherford for a four-ball duck during Match 67 of IPL 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This was the first time Rutherford bagged a duck in the marquee T20 league.
He tried to go after a short ball bowled by Anshul Kamboj in the fifth over. However, the Caribbean batter only miscued it before 17-year-old Mhatre got across to his left from mid-on and snapped a brilliant diving catch.
GT ended the powerplay with 35/3 on the board in what was the first instance of the team losing three wickets inside the first six overs. Their tally of 35 was also their second-lowest powerplay score this season. Shubman Gill (13 off nine) and Jos Buttler (five off seven) were the others to head back prior to Rutherford.

CSK ended up posting 230/5 in their quota of 20 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Mhatre's 17-ball 34-run knock comprised three fours and as many sixes. Dewald Brevis (57 off 23) and Devon Conway (52 off 35) were the two CSK batters who ended up with half-centuries to their name.
