Gujarat Titans registered a commanding 10-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, May 18. This win temporarily propelled GT to the top of the points table.
A remarkable ton by KL Rahul (112* off 65) guided the hosts to 199/3 at the end of their 20-over quota. . His opening partner, Faf du Plessis, was dismissed cheaply, 5 off 10. Wicketkeeper-batter, Abishek Porel, registered 30 off 19, to end up as DC's second-highest scorer.
A couple of handy 20s from Axar Patel (25 off 16) and Tristan Stubbs (21* off 10) were handy to the makeup of the total. Rashid Khan was surprisingly wicketless during his four-over spell. Arshad Khan conceded only seven runs while taking a wicket. He bowled only a couple of overs.
It was pure domination by Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill who bossed the run-chase. Putting up 59/0 at the end of the first six overs, GT were on track at the halfway point of their innings. Sudharsan brought up his half-century a few overs earlier than Gill.
The in-form southpaw got to a well-deserved first ton of the season, his second in the history of the IPL, on the second ball of the 18th over. He finished the game with a six to seal a comprehensive win. Gill ended up unbeaten on 93* off 53 balls.

Rahul’s knock was nothing short of a batting clinic. The top-order batter combined elegance with authority, with his innings comprising 14 fours and four sixes. He brought up his fifth IPL hundred by pulling a waist-high delivery to deep square leg with authority.

2. Shubman Gill gets going with an authoritative sweep
The final ball of the first over of the run-chase was dispatched by Gill off Axar's bowling over the deep midwicket fence to provide the initial momentum into the second innings.

Sudharsan was absolutely fantastic throughout his time at the crease. He got to his ton with a classical drive thudding into the sight screen to burst into elation while celebrating with Gill in the middle.
