[WATCH] IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav reacts to his favourite shots, video goes viral
Suryakumar Yadav rated his iconic IPL shots while revealing if they were instinctive or planned shots.
Suryakumar Yadav rated some of his best shots and revealed the reasons behind them. The fun exercise took place in the Star Sports studio before the 63rd match of IPL 2025 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He was first asked to rate his scoop shot against Jofra Archer in the match between MI and RR during IPL 2020.
The star batter rated it 10/10, as he claimed to have been hit on his helmet by the previous delivery before playing the shot. He mentioned that he had not played that particular shot until that point in the season, but decided to pull it off at all costs, even ready to risk his wicket for the same.
The interviewer then asked what went behind the shot and wondered whether the MI batter plans such shots in advance for specific deliveries, or if the instinct comes naturally, depending on the ball. Suryakumar responded that he plans his shots based on the field placements.

Rain threat looms over MI versus DC IPL 2025 clash
Yadav confirmed that the shots he wishes to play often get stuck in his mind due to rigorous net practice. When the interviewer asked if he ever had second thoughts about risking such shots, the middle-order batter said he always has a clear mindset before executing any of them.
MI are scheduled to face DC in their upcoming match at the Wankhede Stadium, which could be affected by rain, according to the weather forecast. The last time MI faced DC, they secured a thrilling 12-run win, which extended their winning streak to six matches in a row.
Mumbai and Delhi currently sit in fourth and fifth positions in the points table, respectively. With Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru having already qualified for the playoffs, one spot remains for qualification. MI vs DC could prove to be a virtual knockout for both sides.
