'Is anyone ever gonna think about helping the spin bowlers' - Tabraiz Shamsi on IPL's two-bouncers rule

Cricket is always deemed as a batter’s game, where bowlers have limited perks to make use of. But there are some rules that time and again let the bowlers do the talking. One such rule is the two bouncers per over rule which was introduced by BCCI during Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Notably, previously a bowler was allowed to bowl only one bouncer per over, as the second and subsequent ones would be considered no-ball.
BCCI has rolled out the same two bouncers per over rule in the ongoing IPL 2024 as well. While this could be termed as a welcome change considering the paltry advantages fast bowlers get out of their drill, South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has questioned the rule makers of overseeing spinners when introducing revamps in bowling guidelines. He took to his social media handle to raise his concerns over the proceedings.
"Is anyone ever gonna think about helping the spin bowlers out too with some sort of rule changes?" Shamsi wrote in his ‘X’ post.

Speaking about Shamsi, he has been making a solid impact for South Africa in his white-ball outings. He is currently at the eighth spot in the ICC T20I bowling rankings . It would come as a surprise to many if told that the leg-spinner has just played five IPL matches so far in his career. Moreover, he had entered the IPL 2024 auction with a base price of 50 lakh but failed to attract any bidder.

Irfan Pathan opines on two-bouncers rule in IPL 2024
The two-bouncer rule is being utilised by the teams up to its full potential. It was evident from the inaugural match of the IPL 2024 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. When Shivam Dube walked out to bat, RCB bowlers unleashed a barrage of bouncers towards him. The same was highlighted by former India pacer Irfan Pathan, as he stressed that the teams might target particulars with the rule.
"Two bouncers rule will be use to target certain batter from every team…" Pathan opined in his ‘X’ post.
