In a recent turn of events at the England nets during the first Test against India in Hyderabad, seasoned pacer James Anderson, known for his blistering pace, showcased an unexpected talent – left-arm spin. Anderson, who boasts a stellar record as one of England's finest fast bowlers, left onlookers astonished as he rolled his arm over in a different style.

Even former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who was commentating during Day 2's play, couldn't help but commend Anderson's unconventional spin attempt. The moment was captured on the big screen, revealing Anderson's new skill alongside Jack Leach, England's established left-arm spinner.

"It’s coming out nicely. Very nicely. Well done, Jimmy," Shastri remarked while on air with a chuckle.

Despite not featuring in the first Test against India, Anderson's playful foray into left-arm spin added a light-hearted touch to the proceedings. Mark Wood stood as the lone pacer in England's playing XI in a match largely dominated by India.

Jimmy's incredibly professional, we're not looking to manage his workloads: Ben Stokes

James Anderson, a legend in English cricket, has etched his name in history as one of the most successful quick bowlers in Test cricket, surpassing Glenn McGrath's record in 2018. Even at the age of 41, Anderson's dedication and fitness continue to set an example for aspiring cricketers, a sentiment echoed by Ravi Shastri in his praise. In the same vein, England Test captain Ben Stokes highlighted James Anderson's professionalism.

England skipper expressed his sheer pride and confidence in not having to manage the veteran's workloads. Notably, the remark comes from Ben Stokes due to James Anderson's surreal and unwavering commitment. Besides, the 'Burnley Express' still believes that he has a plethora of things to offer to the English side even at this age.

"Jimmy's incredibly professional. You never know how conditions might change and what you might feel as the best set-up for your team. But now we're not looking at having to manage Jimmy or his workloads," Stokes was quoted as saying by India Today.

While Anderson's left-arm spin may not feature prominently in the ongoing first Test of the series, his versatility and commitment to the game remain unwavering. As the series unfolds, cricket enthusiasts eagerly await to see if Anderson gets a chance to showcase his prowess in the upcoming games or not.
