NZ vs AUS: Glenn Phillips takes screamer to leave Marnus Labuschagne furious in Christchurch
Marnus Labuschagne missed out on his century as he was dismissed on 90 runs.
New Zealand star Glenn Phillips is widely regarded as one of the best fielders in world cricket. The 27-year-old has taken many stunners throughout the course of his career, and he showcased his prowess in the field once again in the ongoing second Test between New Zealand and Australia.
Phillips quickly went viral on social media after he took a stunning diving catch to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne in the 61st over of the Australian first innings. Labuschagne looked good on the crease and continued to pose problems for the Black Caps. Scoring 90 runs in 147 deliveries, the star batter was looking good. However, after Tim Southee’s length ball wide of the off-stump, Labuschagne could not help but make contact.
Phillips, who was stationed at Wide Gully, was prepared for the situation and made a full length dive to his right, catching the ball and leaving the fans and his teammates in awe.

New Zealand regain control with the ball
Speaking of the second Test between New Zealand and Australia, the hosts got off to a shaky start to the clash as the Black Caps only managed to post a total of 162 runs in the first innings. Tom Latham and Will Young opened the innings with scores of 38 and 14 runs, respectively. Kane Williamson scored 17 runs, Tom Blundell added 22, and Matt Henry scored 29 as New Zealand were bundled out for 162 runs.
As for Australia, Josh Hazlewood was the highest wicket-taker in the first innings, with five wickets to his name. Mitchell Starc took three wickets, with Pat Cummins and Cameron Green striking once each.

Australia came out to bat and got off to a subpar start as well. Openers Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja were dismissed for 11 and 16 runs, respectively. Labuschagne scored 90 runs, with Cameron Green adding 25 and Mitchell Starc scoring 28 as Australia posted 256 runs in the first innings. With the second innings, New Zealand will aim to minimise their trail and post a big target for the visitors to chase.
