India restricts Pakistan to 191 in 42.5 overs
Speaking of the game, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Courtesy of excellent bowling, India bundled out Pakistan for a below-par 192 in 42.5 overs.
Pakistan got off to an excellent start with Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq opening the innings. Mohammed Siraj gave India their first breakthrough, dismissing Shafique for only 20 runs. Hardik Pandya then removed Imam-ul-Haq for 36, with Pakistan 73/2 in 12.3 overs.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan managed to create a 50-plus-run partnership. However, Babar was removed by Siraj right after he scored a half-century. Later, veteran spinner Kuldeep Yadav sent Saud Shakeel and Iftikhar Ahmed back to the pavilion in the same over, leaving Pakistan at 166/5.
Jasprit Bumrah picked up Rizwan in the next over and added one more to his name as he sent back Shadab Khan. Hardik claimed his second wicket of the day, dismissing Mohammad Nawaz for just four runs. After Hardik claimed a wicket, Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets to end Pakistan's innings.
