The highly anticipated 12th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is currently taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Star singer Arijit Singh, who had delivered a stunning pre-match show at the stadium, decided not to leave and stayed to savour this once-in-a-while cricket spectacle.

In the midst of the game, when Mohammed Siraj, who had been struggling, delivered an exceptional delivery to dismiss Babar Azam with a clean bowled, Arijit couldn't contain his excitement. He was spotted in the crowd, celebrating joyfully while waving the Indian jersey.

Arijit Singh captivated the audience at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad prior to India's World Cup match against Pakistan on a Saturday. Arijit, along with several other artists, took the stage to entertain the fans before the coin toss. Arijit delivered an impressive performance, presenting a variety of songs, including the patriotic 'Vande Mataram.'

This pre-match event was uniquely arranged for the occasion, as both the BCCI and ICC had chosen not to arrange an official opening ceremony for the World Cup. Singers Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan, and Sukhwinder Singh were featured prominently in the grand spectacle leading up to the India vs Pakistan showdown.

India leading the charge as they decimate Pakistan in the first half

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated World Cup clash between India and Pakistan, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first. This blockbuster match was set to draw an audience of around 120,000 fans. Shubman Gill, who had been sidelined due to dengue fever and had missed the initial two matches, made a comeback to the squad, replacing Ishan Kishan.

It was a truly remarkable afternoon for India as they managed to restrict Pakistan to a mere 191 runs. Given the strong start Pakistan had, it's quite astonishing how they finished with a total of less than 200. While the pitch was on the slower side, it didn't pose significant challenges for the batters. There's a possibility that it might even offer slightly better conditions for batting under the evening lights. As things stand after the first innings, India is in a dominant position.
