Pakistan’s emerging pacer Shahnawaz Dahani has given a touching tribute to India head coach Rahul Dravid who celebrated his 50th birthday on Tuesday, January 11. On the momentous occasion Dahani recalled his meeting with the batting legend at a restaurant during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 a few months back.

Meanwhile, the young Pakistan pacer also talked about the biggest life lesson that he learned from Dravid on that particular day when the India great met him and his friends at an Australian restaurant.

In a series of tweets, Shahnawaz Dahani also praised Dravid’s courteous behaviour for allowing him and his friends to click pictures with him despite him being the head coach of a rival team.

"Happy Birthday to the most humble Person, Sir #RahulDravid. Here is Story behind this picture. I was in restaurant having dinner with some friends in Brisbane Australia during worldcup, Sir Rahul dravid entered in the same restaurant where he saw me, before going to find a seat for," Dahani wrote.

"himself he came to me & met us all with lot of respect & love, we all got pictures with him. Just Imagine a Coach of a rival team & wall of cricket sir Rahul dravid comes to say hello to you & your friends. That day I learnt a lesson "Humility is key to success," he added.

Rahul Dravid celebrated his 50th birthday with the Indian players and the support staff in Kolkata ahead of the ongoing second One Day International against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens.

Having drawn first blood in the opening game, the Men in Blue would be looking to seal the three-match series by winning the 2nd ODI.

In the second game, a three-wicket haul each from Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav bundled the Lankans out for 215 in the 40th over.

Dahani was one of the standby players for Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Green started their campaign on a disastrous note losing their opening two games against arch-rivals India and Zimbabwe.

The Babar Azam-led side gathered steam from thereon and showcased excellent performances by beating quality sides like South Africa in their must-win Super 12 fixture and New Zealand in the semis to make their first World Cup final appearance after 2009.

Unfortunately for Pakistan, they suffered a batting collapse in the final against England at the MCG and despite the bowlers bowling their hearts out while defending a modest total of 137, the Asian team failed to get the job done as Ben Stokes' half-century helped the Three Lions cross the finish line in the penultimate over.
