'Play your game and just be yourself' - Ayush Mhatre reveals Sachin Tendulkar's advice

Ayush Mhatre opened up on meeting Sachin Tendulkar ahead of the 62nd match of the IPL 2025 between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on May 20. The CSK batter posted about his meeting with Tendulkar on social media and peaked netizens' interest as to what transpired between the two.

During the temporary suspension of the 18th edition of the league, all players were sent back home. Mhatre, who is from Mumbai, got a chance to meet Tendulkar and expressed his joy of meeting him, with a post on social media. The post garnered a lot of attention, and many wished to know Mhatre's opinion of the 2011 World Cup winner. 

"Some moments are bigger than words. Meeting the God of cricket was indeed a surreal feeling. Thank you, @sachintendulkar Sir. Truly blessed!!" Mhatre wrote on his social media handle as he posted an image of himself meeting the former MI batter.

Ahead of the match between CSK and RR, the official handle of the five-time champions took to social media and posted a video where they asked what Tendulkar said to him. "What did the 'God' Sachin bhai say?" the question was asked to the CSK opener, who has been brilliant in the IPL 2025.

Mhatre claimed, saying it was something he could not express, and added that the legendary batter asked him to play his game and be himself.

"I can't express my feelings. But he only told me that 'play your game and just be yourself'," said Mhatre in the video posted by CSK's official handle.

The right-handed batter has been highly impressive in the 18th edition of the league. The emerging batter has scored 163 runs in five innings at an average of 32.60 and a terrific strike rate of 181.11, including a best score of 94 against the arch-rivals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in their backyard.
