Rishabh Pant accident: CCTV footage emerges after India cricketer's horrific car crash

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was hospitalised following a car crash in the early hours of Friday morning. The horrific incident took place near the 25-year-old’s hometown in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
The near fatal car accident was captured on CCTV. The footage shows the car crashing into a divider before the vehicle caught fire.

Rishabh Pant admitted to Max Hospital following horrific car crash
Pant was severely injured and was first treated immediately at a local hospital in Roorkee before being admitted to the Max Hospital in Dehradun. As per reports, the southpaw suffered injuries on his forehead and left eye. Apart from that, he has also suffered a ligament tear to his left knee and back abrasions. Furthermore, his X-ray reports have stated that he has not suffered any fractures or burns on his body.
According to the DGP of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar, the accident took place between Mangalur and Narsan in Haridwar district. He added that Pant was alone in the vehicle and he had to break the window in order to save his life from the burning car.
Police reports also add that the cricketer had dozed off while driving due to which he lost control of his car.
It is, however, still not known how long Pant will be out of action. In the next three months, Team India will be hosting a few bilateral series across formats before the players gear up to participate in IPL 2023.
The wicketkeeper-batter was retained by the Delhi Capitals as their skipper for the 16th edition of the marquee tournament. He was rested for the upcoming home white-ball series against Sri Lanka, starting January 3 as a part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s workload management.
