Rishabh Pant accident: Rahul Dravid, Team India wish speedy recovery to the star wicketkeeper-batter

Team India sent their best wishes to Rishabh Pant ahead of the T20I series opener against Sri Lanka.

The Indian team will engage in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, commencing on January 3. On the eve of the series opener at the Wankhede, the BCCI put out a video of the Indian players and head coach Rahul Dravid wishing a speedy recovery to their swashbuckling batter Rishabh Pant who suffered multiple injuries in an unfortunate car crash on December 30.

The cricketing fraternity was shaken after the news of Rishabh Pant's horrific car accident surfaced on Friday morning. The southpaw narrowly escaped fatal injuries and is in a stable condition after undergoing surgeries for his laceration wounds at the Max Hospital in Dehradun. He was shifted from the ICU on Monday and is recovering well post the surgery. 

The injured cricketer has received prayers and well wishes from all across the globe and his teammates penned a heartfelt message for the 25-year-old in a latest video shared by the BCCI. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid along with stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ishan Kishan, and Shubman Gill, wished a speedy recovery to their compatriot.

"Hey Rishabh, hope you're doing well and hope you really get well soon. Over the last year, I've had the privilege of seeing you play some of the greatest innings played in Indian cricket test history whenever we've been in difficult situations, so I know that you've got the character, and you've got the ability to get yourself out of very difficult situations. This is just one such challenge, and I know you're going to bounce back like you have done so many times this year. Look forward to having your back soon, buddy," team India head coach Rahul Dravid said in the video.

"I just wanted to wish you A very speedy recovery. I know you've been a fighter and things are not as what you would have liked, but life is like that, and I know the kind of person you are. you will kind of break all the doors and make a comeback which is what you have always done. So my love and my wishes are always with you, and the whole team and the whole nation is behind you. Get well soon, my brother," stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya added.
