The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been full of excitement, drama, and unexpected twists. As the 2024 season is just a month away, the spotlight is firmly planted on the Mumbai Indians' captaincy debate. Mumbai Indians announced the return of the dynamic all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, before the 2024 auctions, and to add fuel to the fire, was also handed over the captaincy for the upcoming season.
Rohit Sharma, the long-standing skipper of the Mumbai Indians, was relegated from the captaincy role to make way for Pandya. This decision sparked debates and speculations about the future of the franchise under Pandya's leadership, especially considering Rohit's instrumental role in leading the team to five IPL titles.
Ritika Sajdeh comments on fan's post
Amidst the debates, a moment occurred when a fan expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Rohit Sharma through a soul-stirring poem, evoking a teary-eyed response from his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. The fan posted a poem paying tribute to Rohit with a caption that read "Iss selfless captain ko yaad rakhoge na (You will remember this selfless captain, right?)?"
Ritika recently also responded to a post featuring Mumbai Indians' head coach, Mark Boucher, who defended and justified the decision to replace Rohit with Pandya.

"I think it was purely a cricketing decision. We saw the window period to get Hardik back as a player. For me, it's a transition phase. A lot of people don't understand in India, people get quite emotional, but you know you take the emotions away from it. I think it's just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs," Boucher had said on the Smash Sports podcast.
Ritika reacted to the post with a cryptic reply, saying, "So many things wrong with this...."
Hardik parted ways with Mumbai Indians in 2022 and was named Gujarat Titans' skipper. He lifted the trophy with the side in the very first year. In the second season, he led them to the finals of the IPL, where his team, GT, lost a closely-fought thriller against Chennai Super Kings.
