Star batters KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are set to make a comeback to the Indian team after recovering from prolonged injuries. The news was confirmed by Ajit Agarkar, Chairman of the Indian Senior Men's Selection Committee, who expressed his delight at the return of these key players.
Iyer's complete recovery from his injury has been confirmed by Agarkar. However, there's a slight concern regarding KL Rahul, who is dealing with an unrelated niggle to his long-term injury. Agarkar hinted that Rahul might miss a game or two in the upcoming Asia Cup due to this issue. As a precautionary measure, Sanju Samson has been selected as the backup player in the squad.
Excitingly, Tilak Varma, who showcased his talent during his debut international appearance in the West Indies, has received his maiden ODI call-up. Despite facing issues in the 50-over format, Suryakumar Yadav has managed to secure his spot in the 17-man squad. The vice-captaincy for the 50-over setup continues to be held by the dynamic Hardik Pandya, who is also the captain of the T20I team.
Cricket fans are eagerly awaiting the action-packed performances of these players in the upcoming matches, and all eyes will be on Rahul's progress in recovering from his current niggle.
