New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson, made a remarkable comeback in match 35 of the ODI World Cup 2023 after being sidelined from the playing XI, due to a broken thumb. Consequently, there were doubts among cricket fans and experts about his form, but Kane proved his class when he came in to bat. Entering the crease in the 11th over of the match, following the dismissal of opener Devon Conway, he formed a magnificent 180-run partnership for the second wicket with Rachin Ravindra. Kane scored a brilliant 95 off 79 balls, including ten fours and two sixes.

During his innings, the ace Kiwi legend played the shot of the day in the 23rd over. Pakistan's off-spinner Agha Salman bowled a normal off-break ball on the middle stump line, and Williamson displayed his class with a lofted shot. He confidently moved down the wicket, created some room, and sent the ball sailing over mid-off, who was positioned inside the ring. Not only did he clear the rope, but he also executed the shot perfectly.
