Match 66 of the Indian Premier League 2024 was abandoned due to incessant rain. Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted Gujarat Titans at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on May 16. The rain did not even let the toss take place and fans were agonized witnessing the proceedings. However, the Uppal Stadium management did not disappoint the thousands of crowds in attendance.
The DJ treated fans with some laser show and some music from the South Indian movies. In a video that is going viral on social media, fans could be seen cheering up each other as the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu was played. It is worth noting that this was the first instance in the history of Hyderabad hosting IPL that a match was called off due to rain.
Here’s the video of fans enjoying the laser show:

SRH qualify for the payoffs of IPL 2024
The abandoned match meant that SRH cemented their spot in the playoffs of IPL 2024. They have accumulated 15 points in 13 games and are placed in third place on the points table. Their desire of getting into the top two positions was also marred by the rain. They had to settle with Qualifier 2 and are waiting for their opponent to catch up in some days.
What does the result of Match 66 bring:
SRH’s playoff spot is now confirmed, Delhi Capitals are eliminated.
RCB-CSK will now be a knockout with the hosts needing to win by 18 runs or within 18.1 overs (assuming a first-innings score of 200).
A win against Kolkata Knight Riders will confirm Rajasthan Royals’ second finish.
SRH will finish second if they beat PBKS and KKR beat RR after that (both games are on Sunday).
CSK can finish second if they beat RCB and RR and SRH lose their respective games.
