The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded this intriguing video on their social media handles. Suryakumar tried to hide his face by wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a mask. Even his teammate Ravindra Jadeja couldn't recognize him initially. The swashbuckling batter went through the streets of Marine Drive and asked the Indian cricket fans about the team's chances in the ongoing ODI World Cup and their expectations from the players.
The various people who were interviewed on 'SURYA CAM' gave their views without recognizing the star batter. After speaking to quite a few people, Suryakumar unveiled himself, much to the shock of the people around him. He posed for a few pictures with the fans before admiring his own acting skills.
Suryakumar Yadav seized his opportunity against England
Suryakumar's T20 caliber is unmatched as his ability to change the course of the match in the space of a few balls sets him apart. However, his numbers in ODI cricket have not been as surreal. In fact, when Suryakumar was picked in India's 15-member squad for the World Cup, many questioned his selection over Sanju Samson, who has an average of over 50 in ODIs. However, the team management backed the right-handed batter's match-winning abilities.
When Hardik Pandya twisted his ankle and missed the game against New Zealand, Suryakumar got the nod. He was unfortunately run out against the Kiwis after a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli. However, he made his second opportunity in the showpiece event count as his knock of 49 off 47 deliveries against England, on a difficult Lucknow pitch, took India beyond a total of 200 in the first innings and gave the bowlers a decent score to defend. The 229-run target set by India turned out to be match-winning as they won their sixth game in a row in the 10-team competition.
