Yashasvi Jaiswal was at his meticulous best against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in match no. 56 of the ongoing Indian Premier League and courtesy of which, the youngster managed to score the fastest half-century by any cricketer in the history of the Indian cash-rich league.
Based on his extraordinary knock, Rajasthan Royals managed to outclass the Nitish Rana-led side completely as they went on to win the match by nine wickets.
Notably, Jaiswal in the end remained not out on 98* runs off 47 deliveries while skipper Sanju Samson too played a very special innings of 48* runs off just 29 deliveries. Meanwhile, talking about Jaiswal, former India skipper Virat Kohli took to Instagram to appreciate the cricketer and mentioned that it is some of the best batting he has seen in quite some time.
“Wow, this is some of the best batting I’ve seen in a while. What a talent,” Virat Kohli shared on his Instagram story.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal has played 12 matches in the ongoing IPL 2023 and has amassed 575 runs and courtesy of which, he is currently second in the race for the IPL Orange Cap. The youngster has been a force to reckon with and if he manages to keep up with the momentum, Rajasthan can very well eye their second IPL title in history.
Yuzvendra Chahal becomes IPL’s all-time leading wicket-taker
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal crushed KKR’s batting unit by picking up four wickets in the first innings. With that, the spin wizard became the all-time leading wicket-taker in the history of the competition and also managed to claim the IPL Purple Cap back. Courtesy of his brilliant bowling, the home team could post only 149 runs on the board in the first innings.
In the second innings, KKR bowlers looked clueless right from the start as Jaiswal’s blistering beginning gave them no chance to make a comeback. In the end, the Sanju Samson-led side won by nine wickets and moved up to number three in the IPL points table.
