After a number of pictures and videos of their skipper and star batsman Babar Azam being embroiled in a sexting scandal surfaced, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spoke out in his defense.

Pakistan Cricket is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to defending Babar Azam. The legitimacy and veracity of the screenshots, videos, and audio which have already gone viral have consistently been highly disputed, and PCB has dismissed them as 'unsubstantial'. Additionally, the PCB explained Babar's silence and claimed the right-handed batter didn't think it was "worthy".

Australian media house Fox Cricket posted reports about the allegations made on Babar Azam and the scandal he was involved in. PCB came to their captain’s rescue by tweeting a firm response. PCB tweeted that, “As our media partner, you might have considered ignoring such unsubstantiated personal allegations which Babar Azam has not deemed worthy of a response.” Hours after this tweet came, Fox Cricket deleted the reports themselves.

In the meantime, the star batter did post a picture of himself on social media with a mysterious one-line message hours after his allegedly private conversations became viral. However, it can be stated that the post didn't have anything to do with the accusations after PCB's severe tweet.

Azam has already established himself as one of the greats of Pakistan cricket and his performances on the field have been magnificent. But as a captain he is facing the wrath for both his on and off field antics. The pressure is on Babar to take the Pakistan team to new heights after a run of consecutive series losses.

Pakistan didn’t win even one Test during their home season and were clean swept in the three match Test series by England. They then managed two draws against New Zealand and surprisingly lost the ODI series as well. After such a poor return, there have been questions on the skipper's ability as a leader and there have been rumours of split captaincy as well.
