Plenty of cricketers have been in the news for their wedding in recent times. It seems like it is the wedding season for the cricket world of late. And Pakistan’s pace spearhead, Shaheen Shah Afridi was no exception to it either. Wedding bells have been ringing for him and finally he tied the knot with legendary Shahid Afridi's daughter, Ansha Afridi. Notably, the pair had got engaged two years ago.

Interestingly enough, a video has surfaced on Twitter, where the fast bowler was seen in an electrifying duel with his father-in-law. In yet another age defying act, the legendary big hitter donned the pads to face the pace sensation and his son-in-law.

However, it would be fair to say that the legendary cricketer and former head selector of Pakistan cricket, Shahid Afridi got the better of the young pacer, as he went "boom boom," against him just like the good old days.

Meanwhile, in another video posted by PCB's Twitter handle, the young pacer was seen getting lessons from the legend on how to hit big sixes. Shahid Afridi can be seen having a throw down with Shaheen.

Moreover, while doing the throwdowns, Shahid was seen explaining to him about the bat flow and timing of the shot to achieve ample trajectory for maximum ball travel. It will be interesting to see how Shaheen will fare with the bat when he takes the field next.

Shaheen Afridi is on a road to recovery from his knee injury

The 22-year-old suffered from a knee injury, which derailed him from representing Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022. However, Afridi was able to recover timely for the T20 World Cup 2022. Not having much time on the field was clearly visible while playing. Incredibly enough, Shaheen Afridi turned out to be a major contributor in Pakistan's thrilling journey to the finals, whereby England beat them to clinch another T20 World Cup at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Furthermore, after the T20 World Cup, Afridi remained away from any cricketing action in the home season where Pakistan locked horns with England for a three-match Test series. The magnitude of his absence can be understood by the fact that the pacer averages just under 25 in all the formats.

Since the last two years he has shouldered Pakistan's pace attack giving batters a hard time at the crease. His absence turned out to be one of the key reasons the Men in Green suffered a massive series loss at home. Currently, Shaheen is nursing his injury and aiming to make a comeback in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting on February 13. The pacer is under the supervision of the national team's medical support staff in Karachi.

The ace Pakistan left-arm spearhead, Shaheen Afridi, is currently rehabilitating at the National High Performance Centre. His availability is subjected to the board's approval post the completion of his rehabilitation and conditioning programme.
